Where is My Sky?

Standing in the middle of the open space, I stared unto the night sky. Expecting mysterious navy blue sky be sprinkled with twinkling stars, or patches of clouds serenely floating above me.

But no, I see the sky brightened by neon lights, all over the city. It's already 9pm, but it looked as if the sun has yet to set. As if, the sun refused to rest, refused to let the moon taking over its role to shine for the Earth. Or was it the act of mankind, going against the nature?

The city doesn't like to sleep, does it? That everyone's trying their best to stay awake, to stay ahead. But little do they know that if one's soul needs no rest, one does not live anymore. They're still breathing, but not living.

For they've lost the essence of life, which is to spend a little time for a quiet moment, to stare at the night sky and enjoy the darkness that only be penetrated by humble stars.

How would one feel when she receives flower from Pau?

OK I know I should write a proper entry but now I'm kinda exhausted and running out of time and that means I shouldn't even be blogging right now.

The Licence to Pay

There's this customer who complained to my manager about me not being sentive enough on who should pay for the bill after a meal in a restaurant. After that, he still requested to talk to me personally.

Man:"Of course it's the men who should pay for the girls! If your boyfriend brought you out for a meal, SURE you'd expect him to pay for you right?"

Me (thinking): "WHAT?! No... Firstly, I won't EXPECT anyone (friends/dates/boyfriend) to pay for me at the first place, especially not at a high-end restaurant which serves fancy food, unless they tell me before hand that they're treating me for some reasons, like birthday or to show gratitude or something. Secondly, it'll be we-pay-for-our-own-meals policy, so-called A-A Principle. Or, we take turns to treat each other. Personally, I have no problem with my guy friend letting me taking the honor to pay, occasionally. And, if it's the girl who paid at the end, I strongly believe it's actually a humiliation to the guy(s) at the table if I hand the bill to them before that. I've seen equal amount of times women paying for the table with the presence of men and vice versa. Even if it's a bit insensitive of a waiter to do so, I usually place the bill on the table without facing anoyone in particular. Unless: If it's apparent that it's a family and who the father was, I'd hand the bill to him; if it's only one adult and some kids then to the adult; if it's unavoidable then slightly more often I'd place the bill nearer to a guy or anyone who expected/called for the bill. So what's the problem?"

But apparently I don't have much choice in this case. So my answer was:

Me: "Yes, sir, I'm sorry about that."

Happy Valentine's day =)

What now what now?

They asked the ENTIRE Silver state citizens to cast their vote to decide who should govern the state as state government during the last General Election. But by just a few supposedly-INDIVIDUAL decisions made, the government can be changed overnight, and the result from the citizens previously was not counted. Well, because they can always make them come home to vote again and again for a "desired" government anyway.

Talk to me about the importance of casting a vote during General Election.

Extreme Emotions

Sometimes extreme emotions are the reasons life is interesting.
A moment ago I accidently ruined F's plan for A's birhday. Yes it is already belated, and maybe that's the whole point of making it a surprising one. I felt extremely awful after knowing that I've ruined it because
(a) it's not easy for F to convince A that only the former will be going,
(b) before that I was there all excited asking Kevin, Pau and Kok Joo to join us in Chili's, and to call up other people also.
(c) I've always hoped every dinner with friends (some more it's in Chili's !!!12) will go smoothly as planned, especially when it's suppose to be a bashing one.

I felt like lying down in front of F and let her slaughter me. It's that awful to ruin someone's good plan which she's been putting much effort in making it a great one for A.

Not too long later, my "Mandarin class" so-called Student replied my sms about the class tomorrow *wink*. OK. At first I was not available to join A in her birthday celebration, wherever it may be, because I'm suppose to date teach my friend Mandarin. And tomorrow will be our first class, which has been postponed for 2 or 3 weeks already. I called him up and arranged tomorrow's plan so that we can accommodate both the class and A's birthday in one evening.

I smiled broadly as I hanged up the phone. It feels so good to talk to him, albeit for just a few minutes, that I'm thankful I'm not slaughtered by F, yet.

I prefer to live as a human who feels. If happiness has to come together with despair, I'd still take the cup of life. Cheers! :)
